Stop Search Safeguard Legitimacy Reports
Warwickshire Police recognise that Stop and Seach is a contentious and an intrusive power that is impactive on public confidence, and therefore it is rightly subject to both internal and external scrutiny, to ensure that not only is the power being used appropriately, but any concerns and learning is identified and acted upon.
All of our data and statistics are open to the public for transparency and review.
You can view our quarterly Stop Search Safeguard Legitimacy Reports below, which gives a regular snapshot of data and analysis into the use of Stop Search in Warwickshire, which includes a breakdown of ethnicity, reasons for the search, use of Force, and disproportionality based on residency in the County. It includes occasions where ‘more thorough’ searches take place, and searches involving young people.
This report is presented at a bi-monthly Use of Police Powers Board, chaired by a Local Policing Superintendent, and includes discussions around operational trends, initiatives, good practice, as well as any feedback and learning identified that requires sharing with colleagues.
