A man who violently attacked and threatened to kill a woman in August of last year has been jailed for 32 months.
On 29 August 2025, a woman in her 20s presented at Bedworth police station with bruises, scratches, and cuts to her face and body, as well as a broken nose.
She reported that Jason Price, 29 of Wentloog Road in Cardiff, had attacked her at a house in Bedworth, threatening her with a knife and strangling her.
Price was arrested on 30 August, and following the arrest, a search of his van found a knife which matched the description of the one from the victim.
Price pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm, including non-fatal strangulation and threats with a bladed article as aggravating factors, as well as engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour.
On 12 May 2026, he was sentenced to two years and eight months in prison at Warwick Crown Court.
Investigating officer DC Rachael Stain said “It was a brave act for the victim to come forward and tell us about this attack, particularly given its severity.
“She has been incredible all the way through this process, and she should be very proud for having the strength to see this through to the end.
“The victim hopes that this result will go some way to showing all victims of violence against women and girls that the police will always treat their reports seriously and take action against the perpetrators.”
