We are investigating a series of high value residential burglaries taking place across the county, with the majority of offences taking place in the South.
The offenders are targeting large properties in rural areas. They’re stealing gold, jewellery and designer handbags, and on occasion they’re walking through fields to approach the properties.
We particularly want to share the fact that the offenders are gaining entry via first-floor windows or balconies and are often using ladders to do so. We believe that they’re using either plain coloured, non-descript vans or 4x4 style vehicles capable of carrying ladders.
These burglaries tend to occur between 4pm and 10pm.
We’re appealing to the public to share any information that may be relevant to these burglaries, including dashcam or doorbell footage.
You can report anything that you think may help us by visiting our website or calling 101, quoting incident 265 of 4 December 2025. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
There are a number of ways you can protect your home from burglars, including ensuring CCTV systems are in good working order and securely looking away valuables. Find out more on our website: Protecting your home from crime.
