Armed police responded after a break in this morning (Sunday 8 October).
At 7.54am, it was reported to police that offenders armed with knives forced entry to a house.
Officers from Warwickshire Police’s armed response unit were quickly on the scene and made an arrest.
Police believe it was a targeted attack at a property in Cedar Road, Nuneaton, but have said incidents like this are rare.
Detective Inspector Tony Hibbert said: “I know incidents such as this cause a great deal of concern in the local community. They are rare and at this stage we believe it was a targeted attack.
“We’re still working to identify and locate other suspects involved in the attack and I’m appealing to anybody that has information about the incident or witnessed what happened to get in touch.
“Likewise, if anyone was driving in the area and has dash cam footage then please contact us.
“You can make a report online at www.warwickshire.police.uk/report or by calling 101, quoting incident 82 of 8 October 2023.
“Alternatively, if you wish to remain anonymous, you can call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Nobody was injured in the incident.
The 19-year-old suspect was arrested a couple of hours after the incident in Balmoral Court. He remains in custody, held on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
