Detectives and officers are appealing for information after a primary-school age girl was reportedly approached by a suspicious man in Nuneaton.
Between 6pm and 6.35pm on Tuesday, May 2, a man reportedly got out of his car on Orchard Way and approached a young girl, who ran away.
The man got back into his car and drove off, turning left on Green Lane.
The car is described as muddy, bronze-coloured Ford with a rusty badge.
The man is described as being between 40 and 50 years old, wearing a muddy black t-shirt, baggy shoes and tatty trainers – possibly Adidas.
He was wearing a face covering, but is believed to have mid-tone skin.
Detective Inspector Carl Buckley said: “We have launched a full investigation and residents in the area will have seen us out today conducting door-to-door enquiries and examining CCTV.
“I would ask anyone who saw a car matching the description in the area at that time to get in touch with us.
“Enquiries are ongoing and residents can expect to see increased patrols in the area.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or visit www.warwickshire.police.uk/ro/report, citing incident 382 of May 2.
