On Wednesday 20 December, two warrants were carried out simultaneously in Atherstone in response to concerns around supply of class A drugs.
A restaurant and an off-license on Long Street were investigated, with packages of class A substances were reportedly found in the restaurant and alleged evidence of cannabis use discovered in the off-license.
A male on the premises was searched, and reportedly found in possession of class A drugs, drug paraphernalia, and what are believed to be burner phones.
A 20-year-old male from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply following the warrants. He has been bailed pending further investigation.
DS Watson said “Utilising businesses as the front for criminal enterprises does happen, even in small towns like Atherstone.
“If you suspect there’s something strange happening in your town, please do make a report so we can investigate properly.”
