Three arrests were made in connection with alleged drug offences in Rugby last Thursday (3 June).
The first arrest took place when officers on proactive patrol in the town witnessed a suspected drug deal on Alexander Walk at approximately 3.30pm. A man attempted to run away when challenged by officers and was pursued and apprehended on Arnold Street. The man was carrying a backpack which was found to contain suspected Class A and B controlled substances, 2 mobile phones and a large sum of cash.
The 27-year-old man from Rugby was arrested at the scene and held in custody at Leamington Spa Justice Centre.
Resulting investigations led to a search of two Rugby addresses at Charles Warren Close and Market Street. A large amount of drugs were seized and further arrests made of two women aged 20 and 40 years, both from Rugby.
All three suspects have been bailed until 1 October 2021 on suspicion of being concerned in supplying controlled drugs.
Investigating officers are appealing for anyone with information to call 101 quoting incident number 248 of 3 June 2021. Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
