A 17-year-old boy from Rugby has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article after a knife was seized following a stop search by officers on Brindley Road in Rugby on Wednesday evening (20 January).

Operation Spigot was launched back in October in a bid to tackle knife crime in Rugby borough. The operation, which has seen individuals being arrested on suspicion of possessing bladed articles and a number of weapons being removed from the streets, will continue over the Christmas period.
Police arrested a 36 year old man from Rugby on suspicion of failing to provide a breath test after the car he was driving collided with a bridge in Thurnmill Road, Long Lawford, Rugby at 20.27 hours on Monday 7 December. There was significant damage to the vehicle. Fortunately he and two other occupants of the vehicle were not injured. The 36 year old has been released under investigation after spending over 12 hours in police custody.
