FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 1084-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 31st October 2025 as follows:
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Please be advised that the information requested at Q1 is not centrally recorded and therefore not held in available in a readily retrievable format. There may be reference within an officer’s pocket notebook to stopping a driver and a warning/advice having been given; however, it is not possible to determine what information may be held unless we were to first identify all officers on duty on that date and contact them requesting they check their notes and, even then, this would not provide a definitive answer as such instances would not necessarily have been recorded. Such searches would take an inordinate amount of time and effort which would take us over the fees limit (£450) as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004. It should also be noted that even if this process were undertaken, it may would not provide an accurate picture as not all such instances would be likely to be recorded at all.
In accordance with Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, this letter is a Refusal Notice for this part of the request, and, if one part of a request exceeds the fees limit, then Section 12 of the Act applies to the whole request.
In accordance with Section 16 of the Act I have a duty to provide advice and assistance; however, due to the volume of information concerned, I am unable to suggest a way to revise this element of your request into one which could be provided within the fees limit.
However, I can advise that it may be possible to conduct searches to ascertain the number of offences, recorded on the date, for the following:
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write or email the Freedom of Information Unit quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely
