FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 1059-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 23rd October 2025 as follows:
Please provide the following details for all submissions from January 1st 2022 until the most recent submissions made under Operation Snap (that is, all footage of suspected driving offences uploaded by members of the public) to Warwickshire Police.
* Offence description
* Offence date
* Reason for No Further Action
* Disposal
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Please be advised that not all of the information requested is available in a readily retrievable format. Upon submission, all dash cam footage is initially reviewed and triaged. At this stage, a warning letter may be issued, where appropriate, or a decision of ‘no further action’ (NFA) may be made. Where the initial triage does not result in one of these two outcomes, cases are referred to the Traffic Processing Unit (TPU) with recommendations for further action (e.g., Notice of Intended Prosecution). From that point onward, dash cam submissions are processed alongside other cases and are not tracked separately. Although recommendations are made at the referral stage, subsequent work by the TPU may lead to a different outcome, including NFA.
Therefore, to determine the eventual disposals of cases referred to the TPU, it would be necessary to cross-reference over 750 cases on an individual basis for the period in question. Therefore, the work required to locate, retrieve, and collate the requested information would exceed the cost threshold of £450, which equates to 18 hours of work at the standard rate of £25 per hour, as set out in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.
Accordingly, under Section 12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, this letter serves as a Refusal Notice for this part of your request. Please note that if one part of a request exceeds the fees limit, then Section 12 applies to the entire request.
In accordance with Section 16 of the Act, I have a duty to provide advice and assistance in relation to refining your request where possible. I can advise that it may be possible to conduct searches for the following information within the fees limit:
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
