FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 583-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 29th May 2025 as follows:
The total number of crime reports submitted in the year 2024 that were recorded under the offence of intimate image abuse, commonly referred to as "revenge porn".
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
When reviewing the information please note the following:
- Home Office Code ‘008/71 - Disclose or threats to disclose private sexual photographs/film with intent to cause distress’ ceased on 31st January 2024 and was replaced by Home Office Code ‘088/15 - Sharing or threatening to share intimate photograph or film to cause alarm, distress or humiliation, or for sexual gratification’. Therefore, searches were conducted for both offences, recorded during the stated period.
- Home Office Code ‘175/08 – Share photograph or film of person in intimate state without consent’ commenced on 31st January 2024 and searches were also made for this offence, recorded during the stated period.
