FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 561-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 22nd May 2025 as follows:
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Q1 response: 59,771 (this represents the total number in the 4 full months prior to the date of your request, ie January to April 2025).
Q2 response: 5,224 (this represents the total number in the 4 full months prior to the date of your request, ie January to April 2025).
Q3 response: None, our response is therefore ‘no information held’.
Outside of the Act and as a gesture of goodwill, I can advise that the speed enforcement policy guidance issued by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO)/NPCC suggests that enforcement will normally occur when a driver exceeds the speed limit by a particular margin. That particular margin is normally 10% over the speed limit plus 2mph and prosecution would occur on the plus 2mph. Therefore, in a 30mph speed limit, the threshold at which prosecution would take place is at 35mph.
Q4 response: There are currently 52 fixed speed sites within the county with operational capability, made up of fixed yellow box cameras, average speed cameras, motorway cameras and temporary roadwork cameras (temporary roadwork systems and average speed cameras have multiple cameras at each site).
Q5 response: 3
