FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 551-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 19th May 2025 as follows:
The amount of money Warwickshire Police spent on policing pro-Palestine protests in the last financial year (6 April 2024 to 5 April 2025).
The amount of money Warwickshire Police spent on policing pro-Palestine protests in the financial year before last (6 April 2023 to 5 April 2024).
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Please be advised that where the policing of protests is undertaken as part of an officer’s normal duties, we are not required to track the cost separately. However, if a unique Operation name is assigned to the policing activity, costs can usually be tracked. Therefore, for any protest activity that required policing within the specified periods, which came under normal officer duties, our response is no information held. I can advise that the total cost of ‘Operation Convinces’, which relates to a pro Palestine march that took place in Nuneaton on 18th November 2023 was £5,387.68.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write or email the Freedom of Information Unit quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely
