FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: FOI-722-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 17th July 2025 as follows:
Do you currently employ any police officers (regular or special constables) who are Egyptian national or were born in Egypt?
If so, please provide the total number of officers currently serving who meet this criterion and how long have they been serving.
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Please be advised that the information requested in relation to nationality is not of the type routinely captured as there is no requirement to do so. There may be instances where such information may have been recorded if it were included on an application; however, in order to ascertain what, if any, relevant information has been recorded, it would be necessary to review the personal records of each and every officer in the employ of Warwickshire Police on an individual basis. Such work would exceed the cost threshold (£450) which equates to 18 hours work at a standard rate of £25 per hour, as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, this letter acts as a Refusal Notice for these parts of the request.
In accordance with Section 16 of the Act I have a duty to provide advice and assistance in relation to refining your request. However, on this occasion, I am unable to suggest a way to revise your request to allow information to be retrieved within the fees limit.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write or email the Freedom of Information Unit quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely
Freedom of Information Officer
