I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 28th January 2025 as follows:
I would like to know:
The number of cannabis farms your team seized in 2024.
The number of cannabis farms your team seized in 2023.
On 30th January 2025 we contacted you for clarification as follows:
Where you have stated, “The number of cannabis farms your team seized”, it is not entirely clear what information you are requesting.
There is no specific offence containing the words ‘cannabis farm’.
‘Cannabis farm’ is a term sometimes used to refer to commercial or residential premises which are used to grow cannabis on a large scale.
A crime of ‘Production of Cannabis’ may be recorded where commercial or residential premises are found to be growing cannabis. However, this will be the case whether the growth is small or large scale.
In view of the above, please clarify and advise how you wish to proceed with your request.
On 31st January 2025 you provided the following clarification:
I am defining a cannabis farm as 'any property that is being used for purpose to grow/cultivate cannabis plants, whether there is 1 plant or thousands of plants.'

Additionally, please confirm whether you are asking for the number of crimes recorded under the Home Office crime classification of '92/21 - Production of cannabis' recorded in calendar years 2023 and 2024 or something else?
