FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 257-2025

I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 25^th February 2025 as follows:

1. How many home burglaries/residential burglaries have been reported to the force in the last three years? Broken down by calendar years (January 1st-December 31st, 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24.

1a. For those reported in the last year alone, (Jan 1st-Dec 31st, 2023/24), can these be broken down by area?

1b. For those reported in the last year alone, how many resulted in a charge outcome? 

1c. For those reported in the last year alone, the number that were recorded as 29B Aggravated burglary - residential (home).

Q1b response: Of the 1569 offences recorded in 2024, 64 currently have an outcome of ‘Type 1 - Charged/Summonsed/Postal Requisition’; however, please note that not all offences recorded in 2024 have as yet reached an outcome.

Q1c response: Of the offences recorded in 2024, 15 were recorded as 29B Aggravated Burglary Residential Home.
