FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: FOI-224-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 19th February 2025 as follows:
I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding vehicle thefts in the Warwickshire Police region for the period between 1st February 2024 and 1st February 2025. Specifically, I would like to request the following data:
- The total number of vehicles reported stolen during this period.
- The total number of arrests made in direct relation to vehicle theft.
- A breakdown of the outcomes of the investigations.
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below. When reviewing the information please note the following:
- For Q1, searches were conducted for all offences, recorded during the period 1st February 2024 and 31st January 2025, under Home Office 048/01 – ‘Theft of a motor vehicle’. Please note that the results do not include attempt offences.
- For Q2, the investigations in response to Q1 were reviewed for where there is a linked custody record, denoting arrest.
- For Q3, this is based on the outcomes of investigations in response to Q1.
