FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 208-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 13th February 2025 as follows:
Note – if the last question takes the length of time/resource above the threshold where a fee is liable, please only answer the first two questions.
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Q1 response:

Q2 & Q3 response: The following figures represent the number of submissions from Q1 which, following examination and triage, resulted in a recommendation to the Traffic Processing Unit for prosecution (ie a course, a conditional offer or Court).
Year |

2021 |

2024 |

However, although the recommendations are made, once further work is undertaken with the Traffic Processing Unit, other factors may result in a different outcome, including no further action. Therefore, in order to confirm that all of the above did actually result in prosecution, and then the number which resulted in the driver being offered a course as opposed to a fine and endorsement only, it would be necessary to review the 816 cases on an individual basis. At an estimate of 5 minutes per case, this would equate to 60 hours, meaning that the work involved in locating, retrieving and collating the requested information would exceed the cost threshold of £450, which equates to 18 hours work at a standard rate of £25 per hour, as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.
In accordance with s12(1) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, this letter acts as a Refusal Notice for this part of the request.
In accordance with Section 16 of the Act I have a duty to provide advice and assistance, however due to the volume of records that would need to be reviewed I have been unable to identify information that could be supplied within the fees limit.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write or email the Freedom of Information Unit quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely
