FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 171-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 6th February 2025 as follows:
I would like to know the number of safer schools officers employed by the force who were working full time in schools in the years 2019,2020,2021,2022,2023 and 2024.
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Warwickshire Police did not have any safer schools officers working full time in schools in any of the stated years.
Outside of the Act and in order to provide assistance, I can advise that during that time Warwickshire Police had Youth Engagement Officers who are responsible for a wide range of activities; however, they do not focus solely upon schools, but deal with many different aspects of youth engagement, including Police Cadets. There are no specific schools visited but officers do try to get involved with as many as possible in order to deliver specific policing messages/subjects or when there has been a specific issue which needs engagement etc.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write or email the Freedom of Information Unit quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely
