FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 873-2025
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 21st August 2025 as follows:
Q1. The number of anti-social behaviour incidents related to fireworks recorded by your force in the year 2024.
Q2. The number of incidents involving animals related to fireworks recorded by your force in the year 2024. This may include reports of injury, distress, or danger to animals caused by fireworks.
For both categories above, please provide a breakdown of incidents recorded specifically in October 2024 and November 2024.
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Q1 response: A search of the Command-and-Control system, for the period 1st January to 31st December 2024, was conducted for all incident logs with either an ‘ASB’ disposal code or an ‘ASB’ Incident tag, that also contained the keyword ‘Firework’ or ‘Fireworks’. The resulting records were then reviewed for relevance.
I can advise that, in total for 2024, 80 incidents were identified as falling within the scope of this part of the request.
Please find the October and November breakdown set out below.

Q2 response: A search of the Command-and-Control system, for the period 1st January to 31st December 2024, was conducted for all incidents with either an ‘Animal/Wildlife’ disposal code or a ‘Wildlife Incident’ tag, that also contained the keyword ‘Firework’ or ‘Fireworks’. The resulting records were then reviewed for relevance to confirm that the incident involved a concern for animal/s related to fireworks.
I can advise that 3 incidents were identified, all of which were recorded in November 2024.

However, please be advised that when reviewing the results at Q1, 4 further incidents involving a concern for animal/s relating to fireworks were identified, two of which were recorded in the month of November. These did not have an Animal/Wildlife disposal code or a Wildlife Incident ‘tag’.
For all 7 of the incidents where a concern for animal/s was mentioned, I can advise that these related to general concerns, i.e. fireworks being set off nearby causing animal/s to be afraid or unsettled, rather than a report of any actual injury.
Caveats:
When considering the information please note that, in the event there are further relevant incidents recorded, but where the requested keywords are not present within the body of the incident log text, then these will not have been returned within the search. For this reason, information retrieved by way of a keyword search cannot be considered to be entirely reliable.
Please note that the numerical data presented in this response is an un-audited snapshot of un-published data sourced from "live" systems, reliant on ‘wildcard’ searches, and is subject to the interpretation of the original request by the individual extracting the data. Please also note that the data is not restricted by a geographical area and could include incidents reported/attended outside the force area.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible; however, the data is subject to the inaccuracies inherent in any large-scale recording system that relies on manual input, therefore care should be taken to ensure data collection processes, and their inevitable limitations are considered when interpreting the data.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
