FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 937-2024
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 25th October 2024 as follows:
1a. Please break this figure down by year, from April 1st to March 31st (e.g. 2019/20, 2020/21, etc.)
2a. Please again break this figure down by financial year.
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Please be advised that not all of the requested information is available in a readily retrievable format. In order to determine the number of individuals arrested for stalking and harassment who had had a prior arrest for stalking and/or harassment, it would be necessary to manually check each person on an individual basis. The business area has advised that this would take 5 minutes per record, which would equate to in excess of 124 hours.
Therefore, the work involved in locating and retrieving the requested information exceeds the cost threshold of £450, which equates to 18 hours work at a standard rate of £25 per hour, as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.
In accordance with section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, this letter acts as a Refusal Notice for this request.
In accordance with Section 16 of the Act, I have a duty to provide advice and assistance in relation to refining your request and can advise that if you were to remove Q2 and Q2a from your request, it may be possible to provide information for Q1, Q1a, Q3 and Q4 within the fees limit.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write or email the Freedom of Information Unit quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely
