FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 576-2024
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 18th June 2024 as follows:
I am trying to find out what sort of support you offer your officers and staff as they come up to retirement. What topics does this support cover, who is invited to attend and who provides each of these services?
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Warwickshire Police Federation operate the Re-Settlement Seminar Programme and offer pre-retirement seminars for any member coming up to retirement. This is delivered by Reflect Financial and covers managing finances/pension advice and life outside policing.
We also have the following policy/procedure in relation to retirement:
Flexible Retirement Policy (for Staff) – please see attached. Please note that there are three redactions which relate to names which are exempt from disclosure by virtue of Section 40 of the Freedom of Information Act. Exemption under Section 40(2) is applicable where the information requested relates to a third party or could lead to the identification of an individual which would be in breach under the Data Protection Act 2018, in particular Article 5(1) of the GDPR which states that personal data shall be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject.
Retirement and Rejoiners Policy (for Officers) – this is available in the public domain and is therefore exempt from disclosure by virtue of Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act – ‘Information Reasonably Accessible by Other means’. Please see a copy of the policy at the link set out below:
Microsoft Word - Retirement and Re-joiner (Police Officers) v1.4 (warwickshire.police.uk)
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write or email the Freedom of Information Unit quoting the reference number above.
