FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: FOI-569-2024
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 17th June 2024, and clarification received on 19th June 2024, as follows:
On 18th June we requested the following clarification from you:
Please note that there is no specific offence of 'domestic abuse/domestic violence'. Where domestic abuse is believed to be a factor in any crime, an included classification of 'domestic abuse investigation' is added.
Therefore, for Q1, please clarify that you are requesting the number of crimes recorded in 2023 which have an included classification of 'domestic abuse investigation' and where the victim is aged 18 or above and the suspect is aged 17 or below? With a further breakdown by age and gender of the suspects.
Then for Q2, the number of those crime investigations which resulted in a caution and the number which resulted in a charge, broken down by crime?
On 19th June 2024 you provided the following:
Yes, for Q1 could you use those crimes recorded in which there has been a classification of “domestic abuse investigation”, and yes for Q2 of breakdown of those crimes that were charged and cautioned.
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
When reviewing the information please note that it was obtained by searching for all offences, recorded in 2023, with an Included Classification ‘Domestic Abuse Investigation’, with a suspect role attached and where the individual was aged 17 or below at the time of the offence.
The resulting records were then filtered to determine those offences with victims aged 18 or older.
Q1 response:
Crimes with an Included Classification of 'Domestic Abuse Investigation' where the Suspect is aged 17 or under and the Victim is aged 18 or older |
