FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: FOI-86-2024
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 19th January 2024 as follows:
Please could you provide details of the number of people charged in each of the past five years for being drunk in control of a boat/ship (a charge I believe is made under the Merchant Shipping Act 1995).
If the time-limit taken to respond to this allows, please could you also state in each case the date and location of the offence?

Response: Searches were conducted for offences recorded under Home Office Code 007/08 - ‘Drunkenness on duty’, Merchant Shipping Act 1995. I can advise that this did not return and records; therefore, our response is ‘No Information held’.
