FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: FOI-240-2024
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 23rd February 2024 as follows:
I live on the a5 near rugby and would like to know the amount of accidents which have occurred on the stretch of road from the applegreen garage to the eddie stobart truck stop between 2004 to present day please.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in providing the response to your request and for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Please be advised that data is only held since 2010 and; therefore, it is not possible to provide information from 2004. The area from Applegreen Garage on Gibbet Hill Island, to the junction with Hillmorton Lane, has been analysed for all collisions, recorded during the period from 1st January 2010, up to and including 29th February 2024.
The total number of collisions recorded for this period is 55 (however, please note that any figures included from 2023 and 2024 are provisional).
Please further note that as the A5 is part of the strategic road network (SRN), and therefore managed by National Highways (NH), you may wish to contact them to see if they hold information prior to 2010.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write or email the Freedom of Information Unit quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely
