FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 728-2024
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 12th August 2024 as follows:
Please could you provide me with the number of crimes reported that include the word "Grindr" (referring to the dating app only) AND whereby the victim of the alleged offence is under the age of 18.
Please provide this information broken down into categories - e.g., rape, sexual activity with a minor, blackmail, etc. - and for the following year only:
- 2024 (01/01/24 until present day)
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: A search was conducted for all offences, recorded between 1st January 2024 and 3rd September 2024, where the keywords ‘Grindr’ and ‘Grinder’ (in both upper and lower case), appear within the MO Description and where the victim is aged under 18.
I can advise that, based on this search, no offences were located relevant to your request.
