FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 426-2024
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 22nd April 2024 as follows:
Can Warwickshire Police provide the number of sexual assaults reported in local schools where the offender (and victim) was 16 years or younger - in each calendar year from 2019 to 2023 inclusive, broken down by calendar year?
Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in providing the response to your request and for any inconvenience that this may have caused you. Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Searches were conducted for all Sexual Assault offences (Home Office Codes 17A, 17B, 20A and 20B), recorded between 1 January 2019 and 31 December 2023, where the location premise type is ‘school’ or the location premises name is that of a local school. The resulting records were then further filtered to those offences where there is a victim and suspect/s role present and where both were aged 16 or under at the time of the offence.
