FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 822-2023

I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 4^th September as follows:

I would like to request information under the FOI relating to the number of under 18’s brought to custody between 2020-2023

Q1. How many under 18’s were brought to a Warwickshire police custody during the above period?

Q2. How many of those were accepted into custody?

Q3. How many of those brought to custody but were denied by the respective officer in charge of said custody?

Is it possible to have this broken down into the different stations that hold a custody block across the force.

Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.

Response: When reviewing the information, please be advised that searches were made for all custody records relating to individuals aged 17 or under, which were recorded between 1^st January 2020 and 31^st August 2023. These were then broken down by detentions authorised and detentions not authorised and by station. Please note that Warwickshire Police have two custody blocks, one based within the Leamington Spa Justice Centre and the other within the Nuneaton Justice Centre.
