FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 935-2023
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 10th October 2023 as follows:
Please could you provide me with the following information, in Excel or similar spreadsheet form if possible:
The average time (in hours:minutes:second) it takes for police to arrive on the scene of domestic burglary incidents in your force for the following financial years: 2022/23, 2021/22 and 2020/21.
On 17th November 2023 a request for clarification was sent to you as follows:
Your request relates to response times to domestic burglary incidents and the business area has advised the following in relation to the time period you have requested:
Pre 18/12/2023 there are 2 closing codes on our Command-and-Control System for burglary:
BURG BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY
BURG RESIDENTIAL
On 18/12/2022 the codes were amended to the following to identify incidents that were just Burglary Dwelling incidents:
BURG BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY
BURGL DWELLING (does not include sheds, garages, outhouses, summer houses and any other structure that meets the definition of a building)
BURGL NON-DWELLING
Clearly the ‘BURG BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY’ is not relevant to your request; however, this leaves the following remaining closing codes across the period:
BURG RESIDENTIAL
BURGL DWELLING
BURGL NON-DWELLING
It may be possible to provide the median response time for ‘BURG RESIDENTIAL’ up until the 18/12/2022 (broken down by fiscal year), and from then onwards the median response time for ‘BURGL DWELLING’ and ‘BURGL NON-DWELLING’ (broken down by fiscal year). Or, if you are not interested in the ‘BURGL NON-DWELLING’ we can discount this from the request.
I would be grateful if you could advise how you wish to proceed.
On 17th November 2023 you provided the following response:
Thank you for this. Please could we proceed with only burglary dwelling?
On 17th November 2023 we requested the following clarification:
Just to be certain, can I confirm that you are requesting the median response time for ‘BURG RESIDENTIAL’ up until the 18/12/2022 (broken down by fiscal year), and from then onwards the median response time for ‘BURGL DWELLING’ (broken down by fiscal year).
On 17th November 2023 you replied:
