1) Do you have any transit site provisions in your force area?
(a) Can you please confirm which local authority this falls under.
(b) Can you please provide contact details for the site manager.
2) Do you use Section 62a-e to direct unauthorised encampments to the transit site?
(a) Could we please have a copy of your protocol for this (if you have one).
3) Do you have any partnership agreements with any local authorities within your force area?
(a) If so, can you name which local authorities you have this with.
(b) Can we please have a copy of your partnership agreement.
4) What are the main issues you come across with the transit site?
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Q1, Q1a & Q1b response: There is currently no transit site provision in Warwickshire.
Q2 & Q2a response: Sec 62A powers are currently not being used due to the absence of a suitable transit facility and there is therefore no current protocol in place.
Q3, Q3a & Q3b response: Warwickshire has a Countywide Protocol for dealing with unauthorised encampments that was reviewed after the CJPO Act legislation changes in June 2022. All local authorities, police and fire are signed up to the protocol. The document is available in the public domain and is therefore exempt from disclosure by virtue of Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act – ‘Information Reasonably Accessible by Other Means’. Please see the link below:
