FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: FOI-479-2023
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 4th May 2023 as follows:
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Q1 response: No information held. Warwickshire Police do not hold any protocol or guidance specifically relating to sharing of information regarding missing people who may be at risk of suicide.
Q2 response: Not applicable
Q3 response: Not applicable with regard to the number of times the protocol has been enacted.
Where the request goes on to ask ‘Essentially, I would like to know when other forces and agencies have been alerted of an at risk missing person’. I can advise that the missing person case management system provides an automatic notification to Childrens Services at the time that an individual under 18 years of age is reported missing.
However, there are no automatic notifications generated to any other agency for persons 18 years and over. Therefore, in order to identify the number of times other forces and agencies have been alerted of an at risk missing person aged 18 or over, it would be necessary to review records of each and every one of those individuals, on an individual basis and such searches would exceed the cost threshold (£450) which equates to 18 hours work at a standard rate of £25 per hour, as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.
Every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is as accurate as possible.
Your attention is drawn to the below which details your right of complaint.
Should you have any further enquiries concerning this matter, please write or email the Freedom of Information Unit quoting the reference number above.
Yours sincerely
