FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 658-2023
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 11th July 2023 as follows:
Q1. The number of recorded crimes mentioning under HO codes 088/05, 008/02, and 005/10 which include the words spike/d, lace/d in the MO with a combination of any of the following words; vape/s, e-cigarette/s, e-cig/s, elf bar/s, lost mary/s , crystal pro legend/s, inhale, breathe, from the following years; 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 (up to and including most recent date available).
Q2. The full MO notes of recorded crimes of vape/e-cigarette spiking or case notes, for the cases that are in 2023, with personal identifying information redacted. Please could you also provide the case outcomes.
Q3. The number of recorded crimes under HO codes 088/05, 008/02, and 005/10 which include the words spike/d, lace/d in the MO from the following years 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 (up to and including most recent date available).

Q1 response: Searches were conducted for all offences, recorded between 1st January 2018 and the date of the request, under Home Office Offence Codes 088/05, 008/02, and 005/10, which included the words ‘spike’ or ‘spiked’ / ‘lace’ or ‘laced’, with a combination of any of the following words; vape/s, e-cigarette/s, e-cig/s, elf bar/s, lost mary/s , crystal pro legend/s, inhale, breathe, in the MO description. This identified one crime from 2022.
Q2 response: Not applicable.
Q3 response: Searches were conducted for all offences, recorded between 1st January 2018 and the date of the request, under Home Office Offence Codes 088/05, 008/02, and 005/10, which included the words ‘spike’ or ‘spiked’ / ‘lace’ or ‘laced’ in the MO description.
