Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in providing the response to your request and for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
When reviewing the information please note that it was obtained by searching for the above specified offences, recorded during the period 2018 to 2022, where the ‘location type’ is selected as ‘school’, or the words ‘school’, ‘college’ or ‘academy’ appear within the location name. However, please note that the response provided may include instances where the location was listed as a school, but where the incident occurred near a school and the location was used as the nearest point, or where an incident was reported from a school but may have occurred somewhere else. The location type of ‘school’ may also have been selected in error. Therefore, the information cannot be deemed to be entirely accurate. In order to determine accuracy, it would be necessary to review the MO Description of each and every record on an individual basis, and where not evident from the MO, the wider investigation documentation. At an estimate of 2 minutes per record to review, such work would take in excess of 46 hours to complete. This is above the amount to which we are legally required to respond, i.e., the cost of locating and retrieving the information exceeds the ‘appropriate level’ as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.
I can advise that, were you to reduce your request to a lesser time period of, say, one or maybe two years, then it would be possible to review the records on a more indepth basis to ensure that the data captured does relate to offences that have taken place within a school.
Response:
Number of crimes, broken down by offence category, where the incident location type is selected as 'school', or the words 'school', 'college' or 'academy' appear within the location name. |
