FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 642-2023
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 5th July 2023 as follows:
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Please be advised that the requested information is not centrally recorded and is therefore not available in a readily retrievable format. There is no specific identifier for thefts from campsites and in order to provide an accurate response to this request it would be necessary to review each and every theft offence, recording during the stated period, on an individual basis to determine if it occurred on a campsite. This would take an inordinate amount of time and the work involved would exceed the cost threshold (£450) which equates to 18 hours work at a standard rate of £25 per hour, as stated in the Freedom of Information (Fees and Appropriate Limit) Regulations 2004.
In accordance with the Freedom of Information Act 2000, this letter acts as a Refusal Notice for this part of the request and if one part of a request exceeds the fees limit then S12 of the Act applies to the whole request.
In accordance with Section 16 of the Act I have a duty to provide advice and assistance in relation to your request; however, due to the volume of records involved I am unable to suggest a way to revise your request into one that could be answered within the fees limit.
However, as a gesture of goodwill an analyst did undertake searches for all theft offences, recorded during the stated period, which have any of the following applicable:
The resulting records were then reviewed for relevance and any false positives removed. Information for the questions asked, based on the results of this search is set out below. However, it is important to note that in the event that there are further relevant offences recorded, but where the keyword/s are not present with the Premise Type / Premise name / MO Description/Incident Summary, then these will not have been returned within the search. For this reason information retrieved by way of a keyword search cannot be regarded as accurate. As stated above, in order to determine accurate information it would be necessary to review each and every theft offence during the period.
