FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: FOI-1137-2023
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 18th December 2023, and clarification received on the same date, as follows:
On 18th December we advised the following:
Please may I draw your attention to our response to your information request 1109-2023, issued to you on 15th December 2023, as attached.
Please be advised that to answer the revised version of Q2, even for a 5 year period, will still exceed the cost threshold for the appropriate fees limit.
There is on average 750 to 800 seizures a year in relation to knives recorded on the Property Management System, and, to determine the number that related to confiscations, it would require each seizure to be manually reviewed for a crime reference number, and then further researched on the crime recording system for the specific circumstances of the seizure. Reducing the estimate to 3 minutes per seizure to review, as you no longer require age, gender and ethnicity information, this would still exceed the fees limit, even if the required period were reduced to 1 year.
Therefore, please can you advise whether you wish to continue with your request for information in respect of Q1 only?
On 18th December you confirmed your request as follows:
Thanks for your response – happy to continue just for Q1, thank you!
