FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 724-2023
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 4th August 2023 as follows:
Under the FOI Act 2000, please provide me with a list of every fraud by false representation offence recorded in 2023 so far which includes the word 'landlord' in its summary.
For each offence, provide the date, location, summary and outcome.
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: The information requested is not held. Please be advised that, at any point prior to charge, reports relating to fraud, including Fraud by False Representation, are recorded generically under the classification of ‘Action Fraud – Call for Service’ or ‘Action Fraud – NFIB referral’. They are not broken down into specific offence or fraud categories, and there are no flags or identifiers, within the crime recording system, to identify the different fraud types. In addition, it is not a case that each record could be interrogated to obtain this information, as the specific offence would not be recorded within this either.
