I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 21st August 2023 as follows:
I would like to know the eligibility criteria for a Driver Retaining course or a National Speed Awareness Scheme for a driver following a speed limit violation, and also how this eligibility varies with severity of the offence.
Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Warwickshire Police follow the NPCC guidance in relation to the speed thresholds for enforcement and subsequent disposals. The eligibility for an education course is for excess speeds of 10% + 9mph.
Further information is already available within the public domain via the Police.uk website and is therefore exempt from disclosure by virtue of Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act – Information Reasonably Accessible by Other Means. A link is set out below:
