FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 780-2023
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 21st August 2023 as follows:
Q1. As a Warwickshire resident, I would like to know more about this “gentleman’s agreement”, including whether the intervening senior officer received funds from the illegal Warwickshire hunt organisation, or an alternative source of support.
Q2. I would like to know if Warwickshire police will make an official statement about this incident, including how damaging this news is on the image of the police, and how it was allowed to happen.
Q3. I would like to understand whether there will be an investigation into this incident internally.
Please accept my sincere apologies for the delay in providing the response to your request and for any inconvenience this may have caused. Please find the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Q1 response: Please note that Warwickshire Police do not recognise the term ‘gentleman’s agreement’. Your request has been interpreted as referring to the protocol agreed between Warwickshire Police and Warwickshire Hunt. In this regard, I can advise that Warwickshire Police do not hold any information in relation to your request.
Q2 response: I can advise that a statement has already been released. This is available in the public domain and is therefore exempt from disclosure by virtue of Section 21 of the Freedom of Information Act – ‘Information Reasonably Accessible by Other Means’. Please see the link below:
