With regards to dogs held under the DDA –
For the last 2 years –
Q1. Can you confirm whether any independent expert witness in dog behaviour or type identification has been allowed to assess a dog at any of your contracted kennelling facilities?
Q2. If yes, how many times in last 2 years and was the expert acting for defence or prosecution?
Q3. Has access to dogs in kennels for assessment ever been refused to an expert?
Q4. If yes, was this an expert(s) instructed by the defence or the prosecution?
Q5. How many dogs have died whilst held at the current facility in the last 2 years?
Q6. If any have died, what were the reasons for this?
Q7. what reasons can you give for not allowing access to dogs by experts in the kennelling facility?

Outside the Act, and to provide assistance, the business area has advised that the kennelling facility is located on a secure police site, and unauthorised personnel are not permitted access for reasons of confidentiality, safety and security.
