FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 98-2022
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 17th February 2022 as follows:
Please provide figures for thefts in which the item stolen was a post box, pillar box or mailbox belonging to Royal Mail for each of the last five years, year to date.
Please see the Warwickshire Police response set out below.
Response: Searches were conducted for all theft offences recorded between 01/01/2017 and 17/02/2022, where the keywords post box / Pillar box / mail box / Royal Mail appear in the MO description field. The resulting records were then checked for relevance and to remove any false positives, for example where reference has been made to the colour ‘pillar box red’.
Based on the above search criteria there were 15 relevant theft offences identified. However, it is important to note that if there are relevant offences recorded, but where the keywords are not present within the MO description, then these will not have been returned within the search. For this reason, information retrieved by way of a keyword search cannot be assumed to be entirely accurate. Please see break down by year set out below.
