FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 102-2021
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 1st February 2020 as follows:
Under the Freedom of Information Act (2000) I am requesting all information that Warwickshire Police hold in relation to reports made to Warwickshire Police between the period of 1st January 2010 to 30th January 2021 that mention non-native creatures or unidentified animals as well as any of the key words "bigfoot", "sasquatch", "yeti", "ape figure", "bear-like" or "wildman".
This includes all reports made by members of the public or employees of Warwickshire Police mentioning any of these key words. This information should include date, time, location and the description given by the reporting person. Personal information that is protected under the Data Protection Act should not be included.
Response: Searches were conducted for records, during the stated period, which contain the following terms: ‘BIGFOOT’, ‘SASQUATCH’, ‘YETI’, ‘APE FIGURE’, ‘BEAR-LIKE’, ‘WILDMAN’, ‘CREATURE’, ‘NON-NATIVE’ and ‘UNIDENTIFIED ANIMAL’, with upper and lower case variants. The resulting records where then checked for relevance and to remove any false positives.
I can advise that the search did not bring back any results relevant to your request; therefore, our response is zero.
