I write in connection with your requests for information which were received on 12th August 2019. Please find below the responses to your requests for West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police information:
- The number of recorded sexual offences against children aged under 18 between July 31, 2018 and August 1, 2019.
- The number or recorded sexual offences against children aged under 18 between July 31, 2017 and August 1 2018.
- The number of recorded sexual offences against children aged under 18 between July 31, 2016 and August 1 2017.
- Can I get this information broken down by age and where possible details of the offence.

Please note that it is not uncommon for Sexual Offences and Rapes to be reported historically and therefore across a date range rather than specific date. In such cases it is not possible to identify a victim’s specific age at offence, even after reviewing individual case records.
Where a recorded age at offence does not correlate within 366 days of a reported age at crime start date, ages have been shown as a historical record and “Not Adequately Recorded”. It would not have been possible (or always conclusive) to manually check through 5960+ records (at 5 minutes per record) within the agreed timescales.
