FOI 11364 and 11365 Knife crime in schools

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NOs:  West Mercia Police 11364 and Warwickshire Police 11365

I write in connection with your requests for information which were received on 6^th March 2019.  Please find below the responses to your requests for West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police information:

For the last three calendar years (2016, 2017 and 2018) and for January and February 2019. Please could you provide:

a. The number of incidents reported to police of an under 18 in possession of a knife (article with a blade or point) in school or on school property. For each offence, please detail:

i. the age of the pupil reported to be in possession of the knife

ii. the type of knife (i.e. kitchen knife, sword)

b. The number of people under 18 arrested for crimes involving knives reported on school grounds. Please give a breakdown of each incident by:

i. The age of the person arrested.

ii. What the knife was used for (i.e. Stabbing)
