I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 4^th February 2019. Please find below the response to your request:

I would like to know who delivered the Equality and Diversity training for Warwickshire Police Officers in 2018/19, and who is planned to deliver this training for 2019/2020. 

If it is delivered externally, please provide the names of the external organisation(s) involved.

If it is delivered in-house, are the in-house trainers themselves trained by an external organisation? If so, please specify which one.   

REPLY: There is no standalone course for the Equality and Diversity legislation. This is incorporated within our internal Learning and Development Training Courses for student officer initial training and investigative skills covering both Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police as part of the Alliance.

When NOS AA1 was brought in by the College of Policing in approx. 2005, all of West Mercia staff had to complete diversity training which incorporated Equality and Diversity.  This was carried out internally by our Diversity Training Team.  The course content was led by College of Policing (NPIA at the time).

The Diversity Trainer roles no longer exist and we hold no information as to whether they were trained externally.

The above took place prior to the Strategic Alliance between Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police and relates to information for West Mercia Police only.
