FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NOs: West Mercia Police 11744 and Warwickshire Police 11745
I write in connection with your requests for information which were received on 26th April 2019. Please find below the responses to your requests for West Mercia Police and Warwickshire Police information:
The number of police cases related to drug offences where a social media platform is mentioned in the report for each year from 2015 to present.
Please break this down by year, the type of offence, the social media platform or website (i.e Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok...etc), whether a conviction was reached, and any additional details about the case you can include.
REPLY:
Please see the attached tables.
Please note the Crime Tree option "Drug Offences" has been used. There are many social media websites and apps so the report has not looked for every single site. I have used the examples given and some others similar to the examples given. The social media platforms searched for in the MO are: Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Youtube, Tumblr, Reddit and Pinterest.
In regards to conviction, we cannot provide this information. Therefore we have provided the outcomes we have.
