FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST REFERENCE NO: 11592
I write in connection with your request for information which was received on 3rd April 2019. Please find below the response to your request:
The request involved statistics related to the number of hate crimes recorded in your jurisdiction involving Irish people in each year between 2014 and 2018, specifically:
· The number of hate crimes carried out by people whose nationality is Irish
· The number of hate crimes carried out against people who are Irish
· The nature of these hate crimes
· Whether any action or prosecution was taken as a result of these crimes
I have received no acknowledgement or response to my request from your office on this, which I may consider a refusal of my request, as a response was due to me by yesterday.

Please see the attached tables.
There is no recording of nationality in Performance Dashboard. Therefore the search including the MO for the following terms: Irish and Ireland. This means that the results are unreliable and things are included if for example it says that someone was called Irish in the insult or an Irish accent was identified. There could be more crimes involving either suspect of victims of Irish decent because of the limited search.
