A man has been convicted of possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and robbery.
Logan Green, aged 19 of Westbury Road, Nuneaton appeared at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday (6 May).
On 4 April this year, two of our officers stopped and seized a suspected stolen motorbike in Nuneaton. The rider made off, but a short while later, they were approached by Green who brandished a firearm at them and threatened them.
Green was arrested and charged on 7 April, and pleaded guilty at court this week. He has been remanded, and will be sentenced at the same court on the 5 June.
Det Insp Ant Episcopo from Force CID North said: “I’d like to commend the officers involved for their strength and bravery supporting this investigation. This was an understandably frightening ordeal which no officer should have to endure when going about their daily work.
"I'd like to thank the investigating officer for their hard work in securing the charges against Green, meaning he will now have to face justice for his actions.”
