Over Christmas and December 2024, Nuneaton & Bedworth and North Warwickshire Safer Neighbourhood Teams were out visiting vulnerable people in their communities as part of Op Plenty.
We visited over 100 people in total, and our officers came equipped with gifts to help them over the winter, including food, toiletries, warm socks, and hats.
In Nuneaton & Bedworth we visited 50 people, and in Atherstone, Coleshill and the villages, 54 people received visits.
It’s not just for Christmas - Op Plenty is running year-round. If you know of someone who would appreciate a friendly visit from one of our officers, with their consent send us the online form by email.
Inspector Andi Gibbons of North Warwickshire SNT said “We’ve been thrilled with the response to us extending Op Plenty to our area at the tail-end of last year, and everyone we’ve been to has been very happy to see us too.
“Making these links with vulnerable people in our communities is invaluable in helping us tackle exploitation and making sure that everyone is safe and well.”
Inspector Ryan Walker of Nuneaton & Bedworth SNT said “It’s been the second year we’ve run Op Plenty over December, and every year we find more people who we can provide support to.
“It’s great for our communities, and it’s great for our officers too – they’ve loved being able to meet people that they might never have come across otherwise.”
