S60 notice in Rugby is withdrawn

In the early hours of this morning (19 February) we withdrew a notice which gave us extra powers to stop and search people in part of Rugby.
Yesterday evening we issued a Section 60 notice in Rugby because we had specific concerns about people carrying weapons in the area.
The Notice authorises any Constable in uniform in the locality to exercise the powers under Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 to search any person or any vehicle for offensive weapons.
At 12.50am this morning we no longer felt these powers were required, so the notice was withdrawn.

To clarify some confusion in the comments of our previous post:
Police officers have powers to stop and search people for offensive weapons at
any time – however they normally need reasonable grounds to do this.
A Section 60 notice is an emergency, temporary power that needs special authorisation because it gives officers the powers to search without reasonable grounds.
