Our gold standard Armed Forces support

Last month our Armed Forces Lead, Scott Caswell, attended the ‘Going For Gold’ Military Expo event in Worcester.
He went along to collect the Gold Defence Employer Recognition Award on behalf of the force and our internal Armed Forces Network, proving that we're reaccredited for a further five years.
Whilst there, Scott met with members of the GB Invictus team who had recently returned from the games in Canada!
Scott commented,
"The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme Gold award is the highest level of award and recognises organisations who go above and beyond to provide exceptional support to the Armed Forces community."Having been reviewed on a rolling five-year basis, this revalidation acknowledges how we as a force have sustained our excellent levels of support, whilst continuing to implement and advocate forces-friendly initiatives for both our workforce and our local communities."As always, I'm proud to be the Armed Forces Lead and proud to put Warwickshire Police firmly on the map as the force that leads the way in looking after our veterans and reservists alike. This award was a team effort and I'm privileged to have been able to accept it on behalf of the force.”
Our Armed Forces Network members are passionate about supporting both our serving Reservists and veteran within Warwickshire Police, and we have very close links to our local service providers, including Veterans Contact Point (VCP), NHS Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust and Op Courage. We also foster strong links with our local regular and reserve military units, local councils and veteran's clubs, equipping us to stay up-to-date with the latest activities within the community and helping us to best support veterans we may come into contact with via police interactions.
